Questions we get

Product, data, control, and stage

Clear answers about Road Sentinel.

Understand the two views, who controls decisions, what the data contains, and what validation comes next.

  • 01

    What is Road Sentinel?

Road Sentinel is a roadside sensing system. Elevated pylons process observations near the road, create structured movement records, and support a planned binary broadcast to compatible onboard units and mobile devices.

  • 02

What is the difference between Onboard View and Infrastructure View?

Onboard View comes from a vehicle's own sensors and position. Infrastructure View comes from elevated roadside sensors. It can add observations from another angle, including areas blocked from the vehicle by a truck or building edge.

  • 03

Does Forge Core control vehicles, traffic signals, or dispatch?

No. Forge Core supplies observations, structured records, and advisories. The receiving vehicle system, agency, emergency team, or person decides how to use them.

  • 04

    What is Road Network Intelligence?

It is the city and corridor view created from continuous movement records. Teams can study traffic flow, signal timing, turns, queues, closures, near misses, transit, and emergency access from the same road data.

  • 05

Does Road Sentinel identify people or vehicles?

Road Sentinel does not read plates or recognize faces. Its structured records have no name, face match, or plate number. Separate imagery may still show a person or vehicle, so access, use, and retention require their own terms.

  • 06

    What is the current stage?

A Road Sentinel prototype is built, and field validation is next. Testing will measure sensing, device communication, installation, and data quality against the published verification plan.
